A Character Development & Cinematic Production Residency

Cinematic character development and production system focused on psychology, performance, writing, and recurring narrative content for actors.

The Objective

Actors need more than craft. They need recurring content, cinematic identity and characters people want to follow. This starts with character STRATEGY.

The Character Lab is an ongoing character development and production program built around psychology, performance, writing and professionally released cinematic content. Actors come in and develop original characters through behavioral study, world building, performance and on-camera exploration with guidance from Aaron’s 20 years of experience in directing, acting and series development. Those characters are then brought to camera through professionally shot scenes, fragments, motifs and “character secrets” — hidden moments and psychological details that exist outside the main scene itself. Over time, actors build an expanding body of cinematic work around the characters they are developing through collaborative development and direction. Designed to create stronger presence, stronger material and stronger audience connection.

The Content

Dark . character driven . cinematic

The Character Lab is built around recurring cinematic character content designed to feel like fragments of a larger world rather than isolated scenes. Some pieces may exist as fully developed scenes.
Others may exist as motifs, behavioral fragments, hidden moments, private conversations or unresolved tension surrounding the character.

The goal is not simply to create footage. The goal is to create characters that feel like they exist outside the frame. Over time, the Lab builds an expanding body of cinematic material around the actor and the character they are developing together — creating recurring familiarity with both the character and the performer behind it.

RECURRING DEVELOPMENT:

The residency is structured around ongoing production cycles rather than one-off shoots. Characters continue evolving through recurring cinematic content, allowing actors to build an expanding body of work, recurring audience familiarity and stronger long-term presence over time.

The objective is not simply to leave with footage.

The objective is to continuously build cinematic material worth returning to.

Why This Matters

ACTORS ARE NO LONGER JUST BUILDING CAREERS THROUGH AUDITIONS. THEY’RE BUILDING THEM THROUGH RECURRING WORK, RECOGNIZABLE CHARACTERS AND CONSISTENT PRESENCE OVER TIME.

I’ve watched incredibly talented actors spend years developing their craft and still struggle to break through — not because they weren’t good enough, but because nobody ever consistently saw their work. And now the landscape has shifted even further. Casting is no longer just watching a tape. They’re looking at whether you exist outside the audition room, whether people recognize your work and whether you’ve built any kind of recurring presence around yourself as an actor.

The problem is that most actors either disappear between auditions or are forced into making content that has nothing to do with the kind of work they actually want to be known for.

So The Character Lab was built to bridge that gap.

Actors develop original cinematic characters from the ground up, those characters get brought to camera through recurring production cycles, and the material that comes out of it becomes an expanding body of cinematic work the actor can continuously build on over time.

The Commitment

$850/month

6 Month Production Cycle

(only 10 seats at a time)

The Character Lab begins online through psychology, character development, writing and performance exploration before moving into recurring production and shoot periods throughout the cycle.

Actors commit to a full six month development and production cycle focused on building recurring cinematic work around the characters they are developing through collaborative direction and creative development.

This is not a drop-in acting class or one-time reel package.
